Celtic Connection Website Awards
Wishing to recognize those Webmasters and Mistresses who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to portray the true meaning of our ways, we have developed The Celtic Connection Award Of Excellence.
These are very special awards to us with deep meaning in their intent and purpose, they are not given freely or lightly. If you are simply on a quest to collect awards, The Celtic Connection Award Of Excellence is probably not one you should apply for.
These awards are only offered to sites that meet the following criteria:
-
The site must be well organized and easy to navigate. (Few if any dead end pages or broken links)
-
Being graphics heavy and slow is not a asset.
-
Content must be of value, well researched and consist of mainly original material. This is important! If your site relies heavily on someone else's work and you only mirror their efforts, award will not be granted. Likewise, appropriate credit "must" be given to the original author and links provided to their site if available. Our Council reviewers are well versed. Nine times out of ten we will know if you are plagiarizing someone else's work. Web ethics are an important and sensitive issue with us. This applies to graphics too!
-
Pages which offer only links will not qualify for Award.
-
Personal Pages without content of benefit to the community will not be given consideration. Simply having a page which says "Hi! my name is so-and-so, these are my hobbies and interests." will not qualify. While it is nice to have a personal biography page, it really does not provide much service to the community.
-
While many of us "fat finger" a word here and there, there are spell checkers available that will help find those mistakes. Publishing a page with considerable spelling errors does not bode well during a review.
-
The Webmaster or Mistress should update their site at least twice a month to keep it interesting. If the operator does not take an active interest in their site, no one else should either.
